We recycle newspaper into small pots to plant seeds and sprout seedlings. These planters are bio degradable so we can just plant the whole unit, planter and seedling into a bigger pot or the ground when the seedling needs to be transplanted. You can see roots grow out from the bottom of the planter and know that it is time to transplant them without disturbing the roots or hurting the seedling... Ebus Academy Homeschool - Dawson Creek

We cut a large pop bottle in half inverted the top to fit the bottom. We then placed a piece of potato we had started earlier into the pop bottle top, filled in with dirt and then put water in it. We are learning about how roots take up water to feed the plant, we can watch the roots growing and we are hoping to see small potatoes start growing!! It is a see through planter :-) Ebus Academy Homeschool - Dawson Creek
