Styrofoam Igloo

One student has used styrofoam insulation to build an igloo. The insulation was destined for the dump, so the student's project has kept it out of the landfill. The project has helped students learn about Inuit culture and igloo construction. Also, the student has learned some beginning carving skills.

Project type:

To celebrate reaching 1000 projects we had a school wide Environmental Day. We started off by looking at kids our age that have made a big difference for the environment. Then we presented our banner to the school. Classes came down for 1/2 an hour to play a recycling obstacle course game and to play a tag game showing how pollution can spread and effect animals.

Once again we have a tank and are incubating our coho. Right now they are in the alevin stage: they still have their yolk sacs attached. We will watch them grow into fry and celebrate when we release them into their home river.
