Avocado are a rare thing here in Korea, so when I brought in what appeared to be a massive seed the students were super excited! We researched avocados and avocado seed germinating, and decided we were up to the task to try our own in our classroom garden. The students were really into keeping up with the progress of their new project!

The students are so excited to start their gardening! They brought in large water/ juice bottles, yogurt plastic jars, and plastic coffee cups to pot their soil. We learned about the different soil types needed for our gardening needs and began mixing nutrients, fertilizers, and soils for their distinct plants. They secretly loved getting messy on this project!

Our class took part in a wonderful outdoor scavenger hunt that featured clues from our in class enviornmental diccussions as well as fun common outdoor objects that may be easily overlooked by the daily passerby. Needless to say they had so much fun participating in the nature around us!
